Wake up, should you exercise immediately?
I am a morning person, and it is part of my magic moment to do work out. I have various
workouts to be able to use different muscle fibers and energy systems, which will take
different tolls on my body.
From my researches, it seems that the time you do exercise is irrelevant. It is just all about the
body temperature and nervous system prime for movement. It is best to do a dynamic
warmup to signal to my body and central nervous system that I am going to move, rather than
just an HIIT program. If I start low work impacts like Tai Chi or yoga, I get my warmup
during the beginning of the workout.
I prefer to work out on an empty stomach, but occasionally, I do eat something light and give
myself time to digest. So, my blood will not need to fight where it should be.
To sum up, I take 20 to 30 minutes to get going, have a big glass of water, do meditation,
stretch out, and move around. I think it is much easier to handle than waking up and going to
exercise five minutes later. It is best to prep my body to be ready for activity; otherwise, the
body will say no.
