I learned this from Roger Love
The Sounds Of:
has a little less than your normal volume, because being hopeful is not the same as being strong and powerful. Hope is a gentle gift that leads to greater strength at a later time. You should use more ascending melodies, going from low notes to high ones. These melodies will make people feel that something good is going to still happen. Then add in a little extra air, that airiness is like a gentle breeze that blows at them without blowing them over.
I’d like you to slow down your pace, don’t speak so fast. When you are grateful, you want to hold on to every moment and enjoy to to the fullest, hoping it will last forever. Then add in more melody at the beginning of your sentences, and then as you approach a comma or a period pull out the melody and end on a few of the same pitches, not going up or down. By front loading the sentences with more melody and leading toward more monotone (same notes), you are showcasing stability. They perceive you to be confident and grateful and secure. Then I want you to add in more volume changes, so that when you have especially good things to say, make them louder, let them feel your volume rise as does your gratitude.
Try and keep your pace slower, as rushing only raises your blood pressure and theirs. Next take out the volume changes we added for grateful, and make it all the same, even volume, as that will really steady their emotions. I want you to still use a lot more melody at the beginning of the sentences, but still end each sentence with same notes, not going up or down. All of this will make you seem in control and calm, making them feel the same way around you.
For this, I want you to focus on using All Ascending Melodies, go up in pitch before a comma or period. Happy is uncontainable, its energy cannot be restrained, it’s begging to be shared, and the extra melody really helps deliver that emotion. Also, use more volume, when people are happy, they are allowed to get louder. Then use higher pitches. Don’t stay in the basement, low part of your range or you’ll come across sad and UN-happy. You should also talk faster, increase your pace. When you’re happy the body is filled with more energy and life, so that makes people want to speak faster.
Practice the sound combinations Ithen speak to people with THOSE SOUNDS. They need to hear you… AND FEEL BETTER.
